Intent Statement

At Millfield Primary we believe that emotional well-being should be at the heart of the school and influence all aspects of the school’s work. If children are not emotionally healthy, they have a limited chance of being successful learners.

We believe that by setting up a hub of staff with responsibility for vulnerable groups within the school, we can  further enhance the level of support for those pupils as well as influence wider practice for the benefit of all pupils, staff and parents.

Our main aims are:

  • To be able to build up a complete picture of the child – ‘fitting the jigsaw pieces together’
  • To ensure support is planned to be inclusive of all aspects of the child’s life.
  • To prevent staff ‘chasing around’ to gain the information on a child required
  • To have identified responsibilities with named actions so that everyone is confident in what they need to do  - work is not repeated or ‘toes stepped on’ and the most effective use of staff is made
  • To prevent mistakes and misunderstandings between staff, pupils and parents
  • To ensure a definite paper trail is maintained

Open Afternoons for September 2023 Reception Intake will be held at 1.45pm-2.45pm on Wednesday 19th October & Thursday 3rd November 2022. Please contact the School Office to book a space.
