Today, have a go at more addition. If you need to stick with single digits that is OK. Remember the tip about starting with the biggest number in your head. Some of you might like to try adding 10s to 2 digit numbers (35 + 30). You can use your 100 square or the 100 square link to help you. Remember you move down the 100 square to add 10s.

There are some links to adding 10s games to help you. Funky Mummy is one of our class favourites! Tumble Down Den on activelearn is a good game for adding and subtracting 10s.

For those wanting a further challenge, to add two digit numbers, try the game Marching Madness on activelearn.

Spellings (Same as for Monday)

English and Science

Can you remember and say out loud what the 5 animal groups are?

Today we are going to look at one specific group of animals. Can you guess what this group is? Look carefully at the group below.

Yes ‘Mammals’!

Watch this clip

Talk through the specific features that mammals have (explain that some other animals in other groups may also share some of the features).

What mammals all have in common- Most have hair, they are warm blooded, they give birth to live babies, they feed their young milk and they have larger or more complex brains. If an animal drinks milk when it is a baby and has hair on its body, it is a mammal.

First can you choose a Mammal from the attached .pdf below to draw.

(Look carefully as there are animals all jumbled up from all the 5 groups.)

Then once you have chosen a Mammal then label its features.

Then write at least 4 sentences below your picture explaining why that animal is a Mammal.

‘________ is a mammal because_______’

'My animal has ______________ which means it is a Mammal.'
