Wednesday 20th May

Hello everyone!

I hope you’ve been having a good week and are enjoying the warm weather. We went on a long walk yesterday and came across a rainbow fun trail that some children had chalked onto the path outside their house and along their road. They had drawn a hopscotch, wiggly lines to follow and large spots to jump from one to the other. It was really fun and a nice surprise for us. If you have some chalks perhaps you could create a fun and colourful ‘chalk fun course’ for people to enjoy as they pass your house.

Today’s theme for Wednesday is: Workout Wednesday

Create a workout, be the instructor and get your family fit! Make it as fun and enjoyable as possible - we'd love to see some photos!

Have a great day!

Wednesday’s learning tasks:

Start your day with an active start. There are lots of options for you:

Maths - This week we are looking at ‘Algebra’.  Open and read through the document ‘Wednesday Generate and describe linear sequences presentation’. Then complete the worksheet called, ‘Wednesday Describe linear sequences’. If you scroll through this you will see at the bottom of the page there are stars: 1 star = mild / 2 star = medium / 3 star = hot. Choose your level. The answers are at the bottom of each level so please no peeking until you have completed the questions.

Further Maths to have a go at! Visit the White Rose website ‘Summer Term Week 5 (w/c 18th May) and complete Lesson 3 ‘Divide decimals by integers’.

Complete the word of the day activities – see below.

Visit Active learn website and select a maths and a SPAG activity to complete.

Please continue with the writing challenge for the week: See document in Resources and Web Links section. Today you should begin your first draft.

Science –We have looked at how light travels, different light sources and shadows. This week we would like you to think about refraction. Look at the ‘Wednesday refraction presentation’. Now you can investigate this yourself! Choose either the ‘Amazing Arrow’ or ‘Incredible Images’ investigation to have a go at! Print off the sheet if you can and work through the investigation.
