First, check yesterday's maths work on factors.  Here are the answers: 

 

 

a)  List in your book the factors of the numbers given.  The number written in brackets tells you how many you should be listing for that number. 

1.  20  - 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20          

2.  25   - 1, 5, 25        

3.  18   - 1, 2, 3, 6, 9, 18  

4.  19   - 1, 19 

5.  24   - 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 24 

6.  35   - 1, 5, 7, 35  

7.  48    - 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 48  

8.  100   - 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100 

 

In your green maths book:

 

a)  We'll repeat what we did yesterday!  Sometimes it's good to do the same thing two days in a row to make sure you remember it!  

So a reminder: a factor is a smaller number that 'goes into' a larger number.  Another way to think about it is that a factor divides exactly into the larger number without leaving a remainder.  

So for example, 3 is a factor of 21, since 21 is in the 3x table (or we know that if we did 21 ÷ 3, we wouldn't get a remainder - the answer is 7).  

Write down the factors of these numbers: 

(the number in brackets tells you how many factors you should find).

 

1.   12  (six factors)

2.   14  (four)

3.   30  (eight) 

4.   22  (four) 

5.   32  (six)  

6.   23  (two)

7.   60  (twelve) 

8.   97  (two)  hopefully obvious if you think what they MUST be if there are only two!

 

In your purple writing book:

 

b)  Vocabulary work.  Verbs are action words:  e.g. jump, shriek, stroke, amaze, ponder, descend, 

In your book, write out an alphabet of verbs: one verb for each letter of the alphabet.  Are there any letters you can't do?  

e.g.

A -  answer

B -  build

C - catch

etc.  

 

 

c)  Art time!  Find some plain paper if you can.  Spend a bit of time drawing some favourite cartoon or comic characters!  Find some pictures that you like and copy them - it's a great way to improve your drawing.  When I was younger, I used to love drawing Garfield!  

 

Send me a picture of your best one! 

 

 

d)  And obviously spend at least half an hour reading!   Thank you to people who have emailed to tell me what they're reading!
