Hello Oak Class!
How the weather has changed! We spent yesterday indoors all day, which we haven't done for a very long time. Over the weekend we spent a lot of time gardening and went for a walk everyday. Yesterday I helped my children with their learning and we had some fun times playing games.
I hope you and your family are well and that you are enjoying the activities Mrs Ashby and I are uploading for you.
If you have any questions then you can email us on our class email account.
Enjoy your day!
Miss Barrett and Mrs Ashby
Today’s theme for Wednesday is: ‘What would you do Wednesday?’
What would you do if you were only 6 centimetres tall?
> Start your day with an Active Start. Continue with the weekly challenge from Pav, remember you can make it challenging as you go through the week. 'Resources and Web Links' section week beginning 27th April.
> Read your book for 20 minutes. Or you could read a book from Bug Club.
> Complete a maths quiz on diagnostic questions.
> Maths: This week we are looking at ‘Time’. The questions relate to converting between units of time and solving problems related to this. Please complete the document called ‘Wed Converting between hours and minutes’. You will find this in the Resources and Web Links section. Tomorrow I will upload the answers for you to mark your work.
> Further Maths to have a go at! Visit the White Rose website ‘Summer Term Week 2 (w/c 27th April) and complete Lesson 3 ‘Problem Solving’. If you are finding these too tricky you could look at a lower year group or you need a greater challenge look at a higher year group instead.
> Complete the word of the day activities - see below.
> Visit Active Learn website and select a maths and a SPAG activity to complete.
> Please continue with the writing challenge for the week: See document in Resources and Web Links section. Non-Chronological report. You may need to do more than one draft to ensure you have met all the elements.
> Science: Watch this fun and active clip to remind you a little about light: https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/ks2-science-light-reflection-and-shadows-from-the-tardis/zdchd6f
Last week I asked you to find out a little more about how light travels, and I suggested that you could create a model of this using string to represent the light travelling in straight lines. This week I would like you to think about LIGHT SOURCES – objects that give out light. Look at the document called ‘Sources of light’ in the resources section and complete the task.
Remember to build in some quiet time, creative time and outdoor time! Why not try the nature activity or a Lego challenge?
Have a good day!
