Welcome to Wellbeing Wednesday!

Wow, what beautiful weather we had yesterday! I was at school yesterday with the Keyworker children and it was lovely to see some of our class members there. Scroll down to see some creative chalk work they had a go at on the playground yesterday. Perhaps you might like to try something like this yourself in the Half Term holiday if you have any chalks?

Active Start

As its Wellbeing Wednesday, ask an adult to help you to safely visit Cosmic Kids Yoga on You Tube. There are so many fabulous and fun sessions on there to choose from.

Hoping that you enjoy a lovely, calm start to the day.

Remember to try to spend a bit of time every day on these following activities:

  • Read for at least 30 minutes – Find somewhere comfy and cosy and quiet to settle down and enjoy some time reading J
  • Practice times tables for 20 minutes. Year 3’s, you should know: 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 by the end of this school year.
  • Practice spellings for 15 minutes Choose 5 words a day to practice using look, cover, say, write, check. Highlight the words when you definitely know them.

Well done for some great reading and dictionary work from the Book of Hopes last week.

Today, as it is Wellbeing Wednesday, I would like you to think about Kindness. I know that so many of you in Sycamore have done lots of lovely acts of kindness over the last few weeks.

Today, have a read of the poem on Page 36 of the Book of Hopes. It is called, ‘Say something Nice’

Then I would like you to think about writing about your experiences of Kindness over the last few weeks. What have you done to be kind? Who has been kind to you? How could you be kinder?

Then, either write about Kindness or maybe have a go at writing your own poem about Kindness.

Today, as it’s well-being Wednesday, your maths will be a practical, yet tasty challenge!

Your challenge is to make something!

Discuss with an adult at home, and see if you can do some baking, maybe make a tasty smoothie, a fruit salad, or even help with a recipe to make something for dinner? Make sure you choose a recipe where you can practice using the weighing scales and maybe even jugs to measure accurately.

Enjoy your tasty maths challenge! Yum!

Wellbeing Wednesday

Continuing with trying to be a bit more thoughtful and reflective today, I would like you to have a go at these Wellbeing Wednesday tasks, which will help you to think about all the things that you are grateful for. I know that this unusual time has certainly made me think carefully about what I am grateful for.

I am sure that you will work hard on these tasks. You always do amaze me with your thoughtful work on Wellbeing Wednesdays in class J

Today’s piece is from one of my favourite musicals! This piece is called, ‘Mambo’ from the Symphonic Dances from ‘West Side Story’ by Leonard Bernstein. I have picked this piece for you all today, because after a busy time being thoughtful and reflective, I want you to get up onto your feet and have a good dance!

You can’t help but want to move along to this piece! Watch Pixie Lott explain the piece of music to you and then enjoy the full Orchestral performance.

I wonder what energetic and creative moves you (and maybe even your family members!) can come up with!

I am at school again today with the Key Worker children, so I look forward to seeing your emails later on in the day!

I would like to wish you all a wonderful and safe Half Term holiday. This Half Term holiday, my family and I have an exciting little arrival joining us.

We shall be getting a lovely, little Boxer puppy!

As a bit of fun, I wonder if any of you can guess what we have decided to call her? Your parents can message me your ideas for names when they send me your work!

Speak to you all again after Half Term!

Mrs Crosswell J

What are your thoughts on what I might name my puppy?

Here she is being cheeky in the garden. I do hope she won't nibble my roses when I bring her home!
