Make sure you've had some exercise!

Make sure you spend 20-30 minutes reading!  Do it outside in the sun if you can!

Remember you have books allocated on Bug Club too.

In your Purple Writing Book:

a) Practice another 5 spellings using the Look Cover Say Write Check Method.

b) Produce your poster/information page about the Ancient Egyptians!  It should include at least one drawing, but could be several small ones, and several blocks/paragraphs of writing.  Basically, the page should be full!  This may take you until tomorrow as well.

c) Do some artwork!  If you are able to, go outside and collect a daffodil.  It's great to just look closely at it and do an observational drawing.  You can obviously draw it once, then turn it to a different angle and draw it again, and again, to create a drawing of a vase of daffodils facing in different directions!  If you want more guidance (or can't get hold of a daffodil, but want to draw!), I've posted a link to a step by step guide as to how to draw one.

In your green maths book:

d)  Equivalent fractions and decimals.  In Year 4, you need to be able to convert decimal tenths into fractions.  0.1 = 1/10            0.4 = 4/10  etc.

     1.  0.2 =

     2.  7/10 =

     3.  0.6 =

     4.  3/10 =

     5.  1.2 =

     6.  2.7 =

There is also a game to practice this on Activelearn.

Answers to yesterday's simplifying fractions:

1. 8/12 = 2/3

2. 15/20 = 3/4

3.  70/100 = 7/10

4.  8/10 = 4/5

5. 20/30 = 2/3

6.  27/63 = 3/7

7.  16/40 = 2/5
