Wednesday

Good morning Maple! We hope you are ready for day three of home learning!

Today we would like you to:

  • Get active for at least 15 minutes - remember you can use the video clips in the resources section, or go outside to run around your garden or go for a walk.
  • Read for at least 20 minutes. If you can, try to read one of the animal information books on Bug Club. This will help with your science later!
  • Practise your spellings for 15 minutes. Please look at the bottom of this page for new phonics words (only if you need to work on phonics) or weekly spelling words.
  • Maths job - telling the time on an analogue clock. Today you could play on some of the activelearn time games that were allocated. Or if you haven't tried it yet, the topmarks time game is fun too. There is a link on this page or an updated link in the resources section. You could also have a go at putting these lengths of time in order, shortest to longest:

1 hour         30 seconds           5 minutes          20 minutes           half an hour

  • English/Science

We have been enjoying learning about ‘Animals’ in the last couple of weeks. As we have gained more knowledge about them we have been able to put them into 5 groups. (Fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, mammals)

Over the next 3 days have some fun and create a fact page about an animal of interest to you. Use and practise your English skills to write sentences, draw diagrams and labels too. Also build on your knowledge and understanding and find out more as scientists about the animals on our planet. You can find out lots of facts about animals on the Nation Geographic site for kids (see link below).

    https://www.natgeokids.com/uk/category/discover/animals/

There are lots of BBC kids video clips too (link on our class home page).

Remember there is extra information, pictures, videos and web links to help you in the resources section.

I'm sure you will do your neatest and best work!

If you are unsure about what to do you can email us at maple.millfield@gmail.com
