Tuesday

Today we would like you to:

Get active! There are so many fun ways to do this. Remember to look in our resources section – you will see some fun clips, including some of our favourite Go Noodle dances. Running around outside, dancing, or Joe Wicks workouts are also great fun!

Read for at least 20 minutes. Remember there are lots of different reading books online as well as actual books, which are also great! We are adding new books to Bug Club each week.

Spellings (Same as Monday)

English

Continue with your next character description. Remember to draw them first then get writing.

You don’t need to write sentences, but some ambitious words to describe would be great!

Maths

Warm up – Quick doubling. How many doubles can you write in 5 minutes? Can you beat yesterday’s score?

Grouping

Remember, year 2s should focus on dividing by 2, 5 and 10.

Try the following divisions, just like yesterday.

If you need to continue to group using objects, that is fine. You could use 2p, 5p or 10p coins. Alternatively you could draw peas on a plate. Remember, when dividing, we count the plates to work out the answer!

The number line method is at the bottom of the page if you would like to give that a go.

Use whichever method is best for you, as long as it gets you to the answer.

Mild:               8 ÷ 2 =              10 ÷ 2 =              15 ÷ 5 =                 40 ÷ 10 =

Medium:          16 ÷ 2 =             22 ÷ 2 =              45 ÷ 5 =                50 ÷ 10 =

Spicy:              24 ÷ 3 =             12 ÷ 4 =              18 ÷ 3 =                 32 ÷ 4 =

See the number line example below…
