Our last day of the school year!

We really need to make sure we have a fun day today as it is your last day as Maples! I know the later part of the year has not been quite as we would have expected, but the first two terms in Maple were so fantastic! I loved teaching you all about the Great Fire of London, and trying to eat Chinese crackers with chopsticks! Our Nativity was incredible and our Chinese New Year assembly was awesome too! What are your favourite memories from the year?

There are some activities you might want to try below, but most importantly make sure that today you do things that really make you smile! Play outside, go for a bike ride, cuddle up on the sofa with a family movie, make a den….whatever you do, make sure you have a great day!

Also remember, at some point today, please have a look at your new class page (it will say 2020 after your class name). Your new teacher will have created a transition activity for you to enjoy. You will also be able to find out a little more about your new teachers.

English fun

Today, you could try to make a cosy little reading den! You could make it inside or outside, bring in some blankets and cushions and when you have finished, you could snuggle up with a cuddly toy and a good book!

If you fancy doing some writing today, how about a MAPLE acrostic poem (A poem that spells MAPLE down the side. Here is my example…..

Making boats that really float.

Always working hard!

Playing hide and seek outside.

Laughing at my friend’s funny jokes!

Everyone in Maple joining in and getting along!

Maths fun

Today have a go at our symmetry challenge! You can use lego, hama beads or even paint to create a symmetrical pattern or object. Maybe build a symmetrical rocket! Have a look in the resources section for ideas!

More fun (if you’ve run out of ideas or had enough of playing outside)!

In the resources section there are some fun questions called ‘Would you rather….’ that you may enjoy discussing with your family!
