How are you all today? This will be our last final week of Home School Learning, so for today's Active Start, I have a bit of a different challenge for you all (with a little help from my daughter!). I'm sure that like my daughter, you might be running out of motivation for some of the Active Starts that you have been trying over Lockdown. So, we thought that you might want to have a go at a 'Tabata Challenge'. During the Autumn term in PE lessons, we learned and then used squats as part of our warm-ups in lessons. Today you're going to be having a go at plenty of Squats!
The idea of a Tabata challenge is very straight forward, and if you have a smart speaker, (like an Alexa etc) you might want to get your speaker to play the song, 'Bring Sally Up'. Then every time the song says 'up', you go up and every time the song says 'down' you go down! Have a go and see how you get on! If you like, get your parents and other family members to join in with you! They could also film you having a go at the challenge and send the video in so that we can have a video gallery of Sycamore's Tabata Challenge!
It is certainly a challenge to keep going until the end, but it is also lots of fun! Have a go and see how you get on!
Well, after your Active Start with the Tabata Challenge, I hope that you have some energy left for the rest of today's learning!
Last week you all produced some fabulous work about your alien planets. It was great to see! It would be great if today, you could write a short story about your Alien Planet. Enjoy being creative and letting your imaginations go!
Here's a picture that might help you. You can also visit this link for a story starter, some sentence work or some ideas that might help you:
There was even more fabulous Maths work yesterday! Well done, you Sycamore superstars! Today you are going to learn how to identify a non-unit fraction of an amount or set of objects. For today's work, you will find:
This term, we have really enjoyed learning all about our lovely, local Norfolk Broads. Today, I thought it would be nice to spend some time, relaxing and enjoying a wonderful insight into our Blue Planet! This is one of my favourite documentary series to watch on TV, and I know that lots of you enjoy this too! So, today, visit the link below to choose an episode to watch and then create a poster about a creature that you watch and learn about. I wonder what beautiful creatures from our wonderful Blue Planet you will learn about today!
Have a wonderful day and I look forward to seeing your work!
