Lots of practise on these will help you with your writing now and in year 3. Come on Maples you can do it!

You can look at 1 and 2 or 3 and 4 common exception words.

(In resources section)

Here is your photo.

Imagine what you can see, hear, smell and touch. The sentences must include adjectives, adverbs and conjunctions!!

For example from another photo -

The leaves swayed from side to side like the movement of seaweed as the boat drifted closer to the golden, sandy shore.

Mild – 2 sentences

Medium - 3 sentences

Hot – 4 or more sentences (huge high five for aiming high!)

Warm up

Keep practising those mental maths skills. Today work on your times tables. Choose a number or numbers to focus on and see how many you can do in 5 minutes!

Measuring in grams

We can link our maths to Tasty Tuesday today! That’s because we will be weighing in grams. First, look at the helpful information on the BBC page.

There is an optional sheet for today should you wish to use it. However, the best way to learn to measure in grams is to have a go at using your kitchen weighing scales and have fun measuring in grams! Simply find different small items around your home, such as fruit, tins, biscuits and so on and record how much they weigh!

You could put the items in order from lightest to heaviest.

Here is an example of how to record your weighing results:

Weight in grams

Tin of tuna

Pack of biscuits

When you do your Tasty Tuesday activity, make sure you do all the weighing! Here is a link to a yummy flapjack recipe you might want to try, alternatively find your own simple recipe that enables you to practise your weighing skills!

This afternoon's Tasty Tuesday links in with the Maths above.

Have fun.
