Teaching Assistant Level 1 (Maternity Cover) - Millfield Primary School


We are looking for a highly motivated Teaching Assistant with relevant experience in Reception to join the Millfield team from April 2021 for a fixed term until August 2022 to cover maternity leave. You will need to have a commitment to the school’s ‘Millfield CARES’ values and vision and join our enthusiasm and drive for all to achieve within a happy, vibrant, caring and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will join Foundation Stage team who plan and work closely together, thus helping to provide supportive and collaborative working conditions. This is a fixed term post until 31/08/2021 for 30 hours per week (erm time plus 1 week), paid at a salary between Scale D Pt5 (£19,312) and Pt6 (£19,698) pro rata. The role also has the potential to lead to a permanent position at the end of the fixed term contract if there is a vacancy within the school’s staffing structure.

  • Is passionate about learning and skilful in working with pupils with a range of different needs, particularly with recent experience in Reception
  • Has high expectations
  • Encourages children to develop in all aspects of their learning, including socially and emotionally
  • Has an ability to reflect on and develop their own practice
  • Has an understanding of the EYFS curriculum
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills including diplomacy and resilience
  • Has a willingness to develop new ideas, show creativity and think ‘outside of the box’, relishing opportunities created by change
  • Is a team player who can contribute to the wider life of the school
