Pear Tree Class 2020-21

Music activity information

With the summer holidays fast approaching I am asking for your help to promote some exciting free music opportunities that we have on offer to young people across Norfolk to keep them busy and making music over the long summer break.

Please do share this link via your social media platforms, texts home, home-school letters, mail-outs and by any other means to ensure that families are aware of our offer.

Thank you for your continued support.

Best regards

Hello Pear Tree Class,

This term in Early Phase our learning theme is ‘Oh I do like to be by the seaside’.

In DT, we are going to be designers, this is where we will be making and evaluating sandwiches for Paddington Bear to enjoy at the beach.

In geography we will be explorers, looking at local coastlines, human and physical features and coastal maps.

As historians, we have already started learning about experiences we may have had if we visited the seaside 100 years ago! We will be comparing the similarities and differences.

As scientists, we will be exploring different habitats and which animals we might find living in certain habitats.

I am very excited for our last term of learning and I hope you are too!

Miss Hussey

Welcome back Pear Tree Class!

Today we enjoyed seeing our friends and teachers again.

We also had great fun seeing the rest of our friends during the whole school virtual assembly!

Welcome to Pear Tree class web page!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and we would like to wish you all a happy new year!

Many children in Pear Tree class will be doing their school work at home this week using Google Classroom, which the teachers will be adding work to every day. The teachers are working hard to make sure there are some fun and engaging English, maths, phonics and other lessons each day. Aim for your child to work for approximately 3 hours each day of the school week. (We have added a suggested time table to Google Classroom). Remember that reading is an important part of your home learning too!

Remember you have your home learning book which contains login details for your Google Classroom account, Bug Club activities and Times Table Rock stars. You must remember to join Pear Tree Class when you first access your Google Classroom account. Everybody in the class has been invited to join this group already so this should be all set up and ready to go. This will be hopefully be up and running smoothly from Wednesday 6th January.

We will continue to follow the Early Phase curriculum. We will be following the key Maths and English curriculum.

This term our topics include:

  • Learning theme – Heroes and Heroines
  • Science – Weather
  • Religious Education – Christianity
  • Spanish, Music and Physical Education

We will also be suggesting online activities and games which support the curriculum, as well as setting fun daily challenges for you to enjoy at home.

I know that Pear Tree children work hard and stay cheerful. You have all made us proud this year and we know you are going to do your best while learning at home!

Thanks for reading!

Christmas Hoop

We enjoyed celebrating Harvest this year by singing our Harvest song with our phase, making bats, hedgehogs out of clay and painting leafs for our Harvest display.

Over the last few weeks the children have settled in very well and are enjoying learning in their new, bright and interactive classroom.

We have enjoyed making maps, treasure chests, compasses and binoculars for our Land Ahoy display.

Here are a few pictures of our classroom.
