I hope that you had a lovely weekend, celebrating the mother figure's in your lives.

Welcome to your first day of learning at home smiley

You can do this! Remember and use all the strategies that we use in class to help you to be ready for learning.

First, make sure that you have a comfortable space at a table that is organised with stationary so that you are ready to work.

If you have access to the internet, at 9am, Joe Wicks will be doing a daily PE session. Please ask an adult to help you to safely visit:TheBodyCoachTV on YouTube. Hope you have a great PE session!

Write today's date neatly into your book.

You are going to be beginning an exciting time of learning at home over the next few weeks. I would like you to begin each Monday by writing a little diary entry. It will be amazing to have this diary to look back on in the future. It will help you to remember your thoughts, feelings, and experiences during this extraordinary time.

Today, begin your diary by writing a paragraph about your weekend and then a paragraph about what you are looking forward to about learning at home.

Remember to think carefully about capital letters, full stops, and correct and careful letter formation so that you have neat handwriting.

Add a little drawing and colour it in too.

Write today's number date (23.03.2020) in your book and neatly underline it.

Today, it is predicted to be nice weather! Get a ball and get outside for some fresh air and some active maths! Bounce and catch your ball.

Can you bounce and catch the ball and count in 3's each time you catch the ball. How far can you count in 3's before you drop the ball? Record your highest score and how many attempts it took to get there in your book.

Each Wednesday, the TV presenter Steve Backshall will be live and ready to answer your wildlife, biology, conservation, geography or exploration questions. Today, please plan a question that you would like to ask Steve, ready to answer on Wednesday 25th March at 9.00am

Ask an adult to help you to Tweet, Facebook or Instagram Steve your question.

You can also email your question to me at: and we can then enjoy reading each other's questions and seeing if Steve answers any!

On Wednesday I will put the details of how you see if he answers your question!

At 6pm each day, the author Oliver Jeffers (The Day the Crayons Quit) will read one of his stories on Instagram and then discuss it. If an adult at home can help you to visit Oliver Jeffer's Instagram page or then you can enjoy this too.

I hope that you have a wonderful first day!

Mrs Crosswell wink
