After a nice, active start, time to get focussed!
Remember to try to spend a bit of time every day on these following activities too:
What lovely weather we enjoyed over the weekend. I hope that you all had a lovely time, safe with your families.
Perhaps you enjoyed a nice walk or a bike ride? Perhaps you have got a favourite walk that you particularly enjoy now? A place where you enjoy walking with your family, which is special to you?
We’ve certainly been enjoying the time together as a family on our walks. We’ve discovered some pathways in our local woods that we didn’t know were there. It’s been lovely to have the time to go on walks to the same place and to notice the changes beginning to take place in nature as it’s getting warmer. I’m particularly starting to notice lots of pretty wildflowers on our walks.
For today’s English, I’d like you to think about your favourite walk as a focus for your diary entry. Did you go on many walks before all this? Where do you go? Who do you go with? Do you always go at the same time of day? What is it that you enjoy the most about your walking route, is it a place, a view, a tree, how it makes you feel etc?
Then have a think about any wildflowers you see on your walk. Use this poster below to help you to identify the flowers you see. Take your time to add a sketch of the flower/flowers that you see on your favourite walk and label it with its name.
It would be lovely to see photos of your diary entries so that we can enjoy reading each other’s.
Today, I’d like you to spend your maths learning time, thinking and learning about minutes.
First thing to do, is to find a clock or a watch with a second hand. Can you find the second hand? How do you know it is the second hand? Once the second-hand reaches 12, begin to count along and out loud as the second-hand ticks and reaches the 12 again. How many seconds did you count?
Next, time to play a little game with someone! You cover your eyes or turn yourself so that you can’t see the clock. Then, count a minute (either out loud or in your head) and put your hand up when you think a minute is up. Your partner has to see how accurate you were! Swap and play again as many times as you’d like. How accurate can you get?
Then finally, I’d like you to have a go at a little challenge. As it’s ‘get moving Monday’, think of 5 physical activities you’d like to have a go at this morning, e.g.
Lunges etc and estimate how many you think you could do in a minute. Then have a go and see how many you actually complete!

I hope that the weather stays good and that you have lots of fun with this week’s challenge! I think I’ll set this up in my own garden later on in the day to get me moving! Although, I’m sure my children will easily beat me
