Good morning!

For this term, Monday's are going to be

'Get Moving Mondays' for Sycamore class!

Active Start

Decide whether you are ready for an energetic start to the week with Joe Wicks (TheBodyCoachTV on YouTube) or perhaps you'd prefer a more peaceful start to help you to ease into the week with some yoga on Cosmic Kids Yoga:

After a nice, active start, time to get focussed!

Remember to try to spend a bit of time every day on these following activities:

  • Read for at least 30 minutes - As the weather is getting a bit nicer, perhaps you can spend a bit of time enjoying reading a book in the garden on a blanket? Perhaps you can write a book review once you have finished the book you are currently reading and send it to me by email?
  • Practice times tables for 20 minutes. Year 3’s, you should know: 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 by the end of this school year.
  • Practice spellings for 15 minutes Choose 5 words a day to practice using look, cover, say, write, check. Highlight the words when you definitely know them.

Although the holiday will have been a little different for you in some ways, I am sure that you will have had some fabulous times and made some amazing memories. So today, let's enjoy writing our diary entries. These are going to be amazing to look back at and remember this special time.

What has been your favourite activity on your holiday? What have you really enjoyed? Have you seen something really beautiful whilst out on your walks? What have been your thoughts and feelings during the holidays?

This Easter holidays, my family and I have kept in touch using technology. We even used technology to cook a meal all together in our different homes, at the same time! After sending us a list of ingredients and what to do to prepare in advance, my mum showed me and my sisters how to cook the meal, step by step together! It was a lot of fun seeing each other and cooking together (making meals to then enjoy together is always a huge part of our family get-togethers). We were then all able to enjoy the same meal, together and at the same time, even though we couldn't actually be together, which was lovely.

Today, I would like you to write about your holidays highlights. Then add some illustrations too.

It would be lovely to see some of your diary entries if you are able to email a photo of it and send it to the class email address to share your entry on this page later on today, for your classmates to read too.

We're going to be using our time to really understand 'time! Today I would like you to ask an adult if you can borrow a calendar. This year is rather unusual (for lots of different reasons, I know!), but what I want you to investigate today is how many days are there in each month? How many days are there in this year in total (ask an adult if you can use a calculator if you are able to). Why is this year unusual? Perhaps you can investigate why this happens and write a few sentences to explain in your own words.

Can you create a poster or a page in your book which shows what you have found out about the numbers of days in each month and what is special about 2020? Add writing in different styles and colours to make your poster really interesting.

Perhaps you can find a well known little rhyme, to help you to remember how many days in each month. Can you learn the rhyme off by heart?

Take a picture of your photo of your poster and send it in to add to our gallery!

Time to get moving!

I know that lots of you really enjoyed our football sessions with Pav. He has set some challenges for you to have a go at each week!

Today there is a great squat challenge for you to have a go at! Click the document below to see Pav's fun challenge! I really hope that it's a nice, warm day so that you can hopefully have a go outdoors!

Enjoy and let me know how you get on! Maybe you can get family members involved with you and have a little family challenge?

Time to plan your question to Steve Backshall!

To help you to plan your question to Steve today, spend some time taking a virtual tour around one of my favourite zoos! As a young child I used to love visiting Chester Zoo.

To take a look around the zoo and then plan your question to send to Steve

Our fabulous work from today! So lovely to see so many of your smiley faces today :-)

I hope that you have a great day and look forward to seeing your work!
