Monday

Good morning Sycamore Class!

Welcome to Get Moving Monday!

Active Start

Decide whether you are ready for an energetic start to the week with Joe Wicks or a dance workout with Oti Mabuse. Or perhaps you'd prefer a more peaceful start to help you to ease into the week with some Yoga from Cosmic Kids Yoga?

After a nice, active start, time to get focused!

Remember to try to spend a bit of time every day on these following activities:

  • Read for at least 30 minutes - As the weather is getting a bit nicer, perhaps you can spend a bit of time enjoying reading a book in the garden on a blanket? Perhaps you can write a book review once you have finished the book you are currently reading and send it to me by email?
  • Practice times tables for 20 minutes. Year 3’s, you should know: 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10 by the end of this school year.
  • Practice spellings for 15 minutes Choose 5 words a day to practice using look, cover, say, write, check. Highlight the words when you definitely know them.

English

I saw an idea online that I thought would be lovely for your diary entries! The child had written a letter to themselves to read in the future. It was a letter all about their time at the moment.

Here are some photos of their letter.

Picture 1
Picture 2

As it has been written by a child, there are some little mistakes. But, this gives you an idea of what you could include in your letter and how you could present your work.

So, today I would like you to write a letter to put in a bottle/time capsule to yourself.

If you’d like to share your letter once you’ve written it, it would be great to see them and share them in our gallery.

Have fun, I wonder what you will include in your letter in a bottle J

Maths

Last week we completed our unit on Time. So, over the next few days, I would like to set you a few practical maths challenges this week!

Today’s challenge is a shape and pattern challenge. I would like you to go on a hunt around your home and see if you can find any patterns around your home. Look carefully at clothes, walls and floor and see if you see any patterns!

Can you carefully copy the pattern? Can you name and label on your diagram the shapes in the pattern?

I look forward to seeing the patterns you find!

PE Challenge 5 from Pav

The weather is supposed to be lovely over the next few days. So, here is a challenge from Pav for you to have a go in your gardens!

Enjoy J

Song of the week

https://www.singup.org/singupathome/song-of-the-week

Today’s song charming sing-along-song is about a little beluga whale and feeling secure. Have fun, learning the song and enjoying making your own actions to go along with it too
