Monday 13th July

Hello everyone,

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. This weekend, someone on my street organised lots of houses to take part in a garden sale and we jumped at the chance to get involved. We had a good sort out of old toys, games and clothes plus bits and pieces from our garage. My daughter was left in charge of selling items and I am pleased to say a number of things were sold. I will definitely host another sale from our drive as it was really convenient and easy to do.

Today’s theme for Monday is: Mapping Monday.

Think about your dream holiday destination. Where would it be? What would the weather be like? What would there be to do? Now make a bird’s eye view map of your dream holiday destination!

Please don’t forget to keep in touch with us regularly, it is so lovely to hear about what you’re up to and how you’re getting on with your learning – keep it up!  Don’t forget if you have been doing other things such as trying a new hobby, learning a new skill, we would love to hear about these things too.  Miss Barrett and I are teaching our Y6 Bubble group on our teaching days, so you may find that sometimes we are unable to respond straight away to your email queries – we will endeavour to answer them as soon as we can, but sometimes it may be later in the day.

Have a good day!

Mrs Ashby and Miss Barrett

Monday's Learning tasks:

> Start your day with an Active Start. There are lots of options for you:

- Or create your own PE session – for example, an obstacle course in the garden or lead a keep fit session with your family to your favourite tunes

> Read your book for 20 minutes. Or you could read a book from Bug Club.

> Complete a maths quiz on diagnostic questions.

> Maths: This week for maths we are setting you lots more investigations to have a go at. Look in our Resources section for details.

> Further Maths to have a go at! Visit the White Rose website ‘Summer Term Week 12 (w/c 13th July) and complete Lesson 1 ‘Draw nets of 3d Shapes’.  Remember, if you are finding these too tricky you could look at a lower year group or if you need a greater challenge look at a higher year group instead. We do not have a subscription to the worksheets so this activity is just watching and discussing the video.

> Complete the word of the day activities - see below.

> Visit Active learn website and select a maths and a SPAG activity to complete.

> Writing challenge for the week: For details of our writing task this week click on the resource in our Resources and Web Links. There is a story starter based on a picture for inspiration called ‘The Tree Door’. You may want to consider the questions on the document first to help you think of ides for a story. Extra activities include: ‘Sentence Challenge’, ‘Sick Sentences’ and ‘Perfect Picture’.

> Design Technology: In our resources section you will find a document called ‘D&T’. There are over 20 challenges to choose from – these design technology tasks have been given to us by Cromer High School. Each week this will be your task that I will be setting on a Monday and Tuesday. We would love to see your creations. Have fun!

> Remember to build in some quiet time, creative time and outdoor time!

Have a good day!

Mrs Ashby and Miss Barrett
