Introduction to your new teacher!

I'll look forward to meeting you in September and finding out about you, your talents, your interests, your likes and your dislikes!

In the meantime, a short introduction to mine!

My household is myself, my lovely wife, my two sons, and our pet greyhound, Ninja.  Ninja is needless to say, an all-black dog, who used to be a racing dog.  She prefers not to run nowadays, and to lie on the sofa, although she can still thrash me in a sprint if I can convince her to race me.

I don't like lying around on the sofa!  I love playing tennis, in which I captain a team in Division 1 of the local league.  I also love running, and compete in races as regularly as I can.  I think I was up to about 220 parkruns completed by the time lock down started!  They're my two favourite sports, but I also enjoy football, badminton, swimming, surfing, and long-distance walks.

Besides sport, my favourite hobbies are reading and music.  I love reading lots of novels (I've been reading a lot of science-fiction books recently), and history books.  Music-wise, I like guitar and rock music, and I like playing both the guitar and the drums.

And I love learning!  I genuinely find every academic subject fascinating.  When I was at school myself, it was particularly maths and science that I loved.  But as I've got older, I now love learning and teaching English; Geography is endlessly interesting, and I spend lots of time reading about History - I actually did an A-Level in history last year, just for fun!  I enjoy art (my wife is an artist) and needless to say I love PE and music.

So that's me!  As I said, I'll look forward to finding out all about you in September.
