Measuring in litres

Today we’re thinking about litres!

There is a great BBC video clip, follow the link….

https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zsjdg7h

Now have a go at our Maple challenges:

Challenge 1

Sort the items below into ‘ml’ and ‘l’ depending on whether you would measure the volume in litres or millilitres.

Bath tub, spoon, swimming pool, cup, milk bottle, kettle, bucket, medicine bottle

I would measure in litres

Challenge 2

Copy these measurement sentences with a comparison symbol in the middle (cranky croc). Remember Croc loves to eat the biggest amount, so open his mouth on the bigger measurement. The first one is done for you!

250ml > 100ml

40ml __  60ml

5ml __ 5l

100ml __ ½ litre

8 litres __ 1000ml

4 buckets of water __ 6 cups of water
