Can you write another sentence using an ‘a-e’ word?

Practice these spellings for the week ready for a test on Friday.

ask, friend, school, put, push, pull, house

Choose a book from either bug club or oxford owl. Oxford Owl is free to sign up to and has a wide variety of books to practice your phonics sounds with!

If you finished your retelling of The Old Toy Room yesterday, please see the activity below. If you have not, please add your sentences to your story mountain.

Activity – On our class page, I have put some spelling and grammar challenges for you to work through.

You do not have to print these off! You can talk about the answers with your grown up and write them out in your book.

These challenges will test your excellent reading skills as well as getting you to do some writing too! For a mild challenge, see if you can work through 4, a medium see if you can work through 6 and for a spicy challenge see if you can work through 8 or more!

Good luck!

Feel Good Friday

As it’s Friday – use this time to do something you enjoy, that makes you happy! You can choose something from the Feel-Good Friday list down below! Enjoy this time, you deserve it from working so hard!

Academic Time - Maths

Warm up:

By now, you should know the 100 square pretty well. Now is time to test your knowledge. For this challenge, you will need another blank 100 square, a pen or pencil and a timer/stop watch, or someone to time you. How quickly can you complete the blank 100 square? Time how long it takes you and add a 10 second penalty for every mistake you make, if you make any. Keep a note of how long it takes you, because next week. I’ll ask you to do it again and I want you to try to beat today’s time. Ready, steady, GO!

Now it is time to make a graph of everyone’s favourite childhood toy. Use you tally chart from yesterday. Now you can choose which kind of graph to make, either a block graph or a pictogram. Draw the squares on the graph and label it, using the practise ones from this week, as a guide. If you are making a block graph, colour in the squares that you need. If you are making a pictogram, draw the pictures in the squares, showing the different types of toys. Another way to do this is to use a catalogue or the internet, to cut out the pictures that you need. When it is finished, remember to photograph it and send it to me, so I can share with your class-mates.

Active time
