Take a look at the last letter of the root word when it is doubled then ‘ed’ or ‘ing’ is added.
Last letter is written again then ‘ed’
Last letter is written again then ‘ing’
Can you think of or find any more to add to my list?
Today I would like you to have fun and have a go at the year 2 SPAG assessment. (In the resources section.)
Just have fun and just see how you get on. Don't treat it like a test but as a way of seeing how you are getting on. Anything that you find tricky use it as a starting point for a discussion on how you might go about answering it and work through those ones together.
To get your brain ready for maths do some active counting (star jumps, bunny hops, stretches) chanting your times tables as you go!
Try problems 1 and 2 on the BBC page (there is a document at the bottom of the page if you want to print them).
Here is our Maple problem:
At the toy shop
The toy shop stocks tricycles and go-carts.
The tricycles have 3 wheels.
The go-carts have 5 wheels.
Suna counted the wheels.
He counted 37 altogether.
How many tricycles are there?
How many go-carts?
Find two ways to do it.
For 'Feel Good Friday' follow the link below or enjoy looking at books at home and learn about something that is linked to your OWN interests.
It could be Art, Sport or Sporting heroes, Gardening, Languages or History. Or literally anything.
Last week my daughter and I learnt about the history of Egypt and also about Pompeii in Italy and the drama of the volcano.
It can be nice to just have some time to look into something that captivates you.
