In your green maths book:

a)  More work on number sequences.  Some sequences today will be like yesterday's work: identify the pattern of the sequence and extend it.  Some today will have missing numbers earlier in the sequence.   In this case, identify the missing numbers.

For example: 1,__, __, 10.  There is a way to calculate this, but you can also do it by 'trial and error' - meaning, try a number, see if the sequence is going up by that, and if it's not, try another number.

So here, we'll try going up in different numbers, and see if we land on 10 by the fourth number.  Try going up in 1s: 1, 2, 3, 4.  So no.  Try going up in 2s: 1, 3, 5, 7. So no.  Try going up in 3s: 1, 4, 7, 10. Yes!  So the sequence IS going up in 3s.

Choose your level:

Brown belt level:

1.  175, 150, 125, 100, __, __, __, __

2.  6, 11, 16, 21, __, __, __, __

3.  8, 6, 4, 2, __, __, __, __

4.  16, 24, 32, 40, __, __, __, __

5.  2, __, __, 8

6.  3, __, __, 12

7. 5, __, __, __, 25 (there are 3 missing numbers here, not 2!)

8.  25, __, __, 100

Black belt level

1.  1, 10, 19, 28, __, __, __, __

2.  78, 71, 64, 57, __, __, __, __

3.  18, 14, 10, 6, __, __, __, __

4.  505, 1010, 1515, 2020, __, __, __, __

5.  1, __, __, 13

6.  15, __, __, 6 (this one is going down!)

7.  2, __, __, __, 22 (three missing numbers!)

8.  10, __, __, 43

In your purple writing book:

b) Continue to work on your Country report.  Remember that this should have several paragraphs, each with a different focus, and illustrations!

If you completed this yesterday, instead, return to your list of countries in the world.  Previously, you were asked to write an A-M of countries - can you now extend this all the way to Z?  (It is possible to do every letter apart from X!)

c) Spanish.  Below is a link to a webpage that will teach you about rooms in the house in Spanish.  Watch the video - some of the 'notes' are a bit hard, but it has English subtitles!  But what you should be paying attention to is the names of the rooms and household features in Spanish - e.g. kitchen, stairs etc.  Then scroll down to the picture of a house - can you begin to remember some of these room names?

It then explains how you can put these into simple sentences, such as I have a _______, or There is a _______.

If you scroll down the page, you will find short audio clips you can play that will show some simple sentences about the house.

In your book, can you write down 5 simple Spanish sentences to describe your house?

e.g. I have 3 bedrooms. There is a kitchen.  I have a dining room. etc (but in Spanish, obviously!).

There is also a link to a Spanish numbers song for a bit of a warm-up first!
