Class Teacher - Reception/Key Stage 1

 

We are looking for a highly motivated Reception/Key Stage 1 teacher to join the Millfield team from September 2020. You will need to have a commitment to the school’s ‘Millfield CARES’ values and vision and join our enthusiasm and drive for all to achieve within a happy, vibrant, caring and inclusive environment.

The successful candidate will join a key stage team who plan and work closely together, thus helping to provide supportive and collaborative working conditions. The role also has the potential to provide leadership opportunities in co-ordinating the work of colleagues within a phase and being responsible for liaison and transition for pupils from pre-school settings.

This post is suitable for an experienced teacher who already has leadership responsibilities or someone who is looking for their first leadership role

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is passionate about teaching and learning and skilful in working with pupils with a range of different needs, particularly with recent experience in Reception
  • Has high expectations
  • Encourages children to develop in all aspects of their learning, including socially and emotionally
  • Has an ability to reflect on and develop their own practice as well as advise others on classroom practice
  • Has an excellent understanding of the EYFS and KS1 curriculum
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills including diplomacy, resilience and strategic thinking
  • Has a willingness to develop new ideas, show creativity and think ‘outside of the box’, relishing opportunities created by change
  • Is a team player who can contribute to the wider life of the school

The school will be closed to all pupils except children of key workers or vulnerable children who may attend for a mixture of educational and care based provision on weekdays between 8.50a.m. and 3.00p.m..
