Chestnut Class

Welcome to our online learning pages!

Good Morning Chestnut Class!

It's the last day of term at home school and at Millfield!

I hope you can have some time to reflect on your learning over the last year today - what do you remember as your favourite things from Chestnut Class?

It has been a strange few months for  you, but I have been so  pleased to see so many of you working home at home school and sharing your learning and interests with me. We are all very proud of you - your teachers, your school and your families.

When you return to school, we will help you get used to new routines, classrooms and teachers, as well as making sure you feel confident in your learning again. There is no need to worry; we will welcome you back into school and your new teachers will help you to settle back in and get ready for learning.

Parents - we hope you will encourage your child to keep reading and learning and taking an interest in the world around them. Keeping busy and active, as well as getting lost in lots of good books are great things to do over the next few weeks. Relax and have fun!

You can have a nice holiday for a few weeks and we are all looking forward to welcoming you back to school.

You can find your new class pages where your new teacher will be writing to you soon.

I am not going to say goodbye, but "arrivederci" as they say in Italy - until we see each other again! Have a great holiday and see you soon!

North Walsham library is open!! Why not plan a visit? I went after school and choose some lovely new novels to get stuck into! I can't wait! It looks a bit different - a one way system and different sections for now.... but still hundreds of lovely books to choose from!

Opening hours

  • Monday - Friday: 10.30am-6pm
  • Saturday: 10.30am-4pm
  • Sunday: Closed

Don't forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge organised by Norfolk Libraries!

Keeping safe online:

Remember to keep yourselves safe when you are going online.

We know how much more you may need to go online to complete your learning but remember that if you see something that makes you feel unsafe or worried, then it is important you switch off your device and tell an adult straight away.

Norfolk Children's Services have also created a new phone line to help children too for worries you may have while school is closed.

So if at any point you are feeling worried or unsafe, tell someone! Remember in class we talked about trusted adults. You can talk to one of these, or phone or text these numbers:

Text: 07480 635060

Phone: 0344 800 8029

You can also contact Childline on 0800 1111 to talk to them about anything worrying   that you see.

We have also added a useful section to our class page below called 'Keeping Safe Online'.

Tell your parents about it and have a look yourselves too. There is a weblink to the thinkuknow website and every two weeks they are adding new activities for your age group to help keep you and your family safe online.

Please have a look at these.

Take care and Keep Safe Everyone!
