Chestnut Class 2020-21

Welcome to Chestnut class page!

Welcome to Chestnut class web page!

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Many of Chestnut class will be moving to remote learning this week and we will be updating the Google Classroom which will be home to your daily learning. Ms. Lanchbury and I will be regularly updating this page, with teaching and work that will be set to be completed each day. It is the expectation of the Department of Education that Primary age children will work for 3 hours each day of the school week. This will include the work set each day on Google Classrooms alongside weekly spellings, daily times tables and reading alone, or with an adult.

Remember you have your home learning book which contains login details for your Google Classroom account, Bug Club activities and Times Table Rock stars content. You must remember to join Chestnut Class when you first access your Google Classroom account. Everybody in the class has been invited to join this group already so this should be all set up and ready to go. This will be hopefully be up and running smoothly from Wednesday 6th January.

We will continue to follow the Middle Phase curriculum. We will be following the key Maths and English curriculum.

This term our topics include:

  • Learning theme – Lord Nelson & Norfolk
  • Science – Human body including skeletons & teeth, muscles and movement
  • Religious Education – Christianity
  • Spanish, Music and Physical Education

We will also be suggesting online activities and games which support the curriculum.

We know that Chestnut children work hard and stay cheerful. You have all made us proud this year and we know you are going to do your best while learning at home!

Thanks for reading!

Mr. Davies
